Why restore a classic car ?
If you haven't something pretty, rare and valuable ; not to make money would be my first suggestion. Mercedes 560SL, Lister Corvette , Red 280SL, 1969 Mercedes Benz etc etc than a full,higher quality classic cars will cost more than the car is currently worth. However, that's not important to look at in my opinion. May be you are personally attached to your classic car, it may have been your closest one in your whole life. Then the price is irrelevant.

You can buy a new car for vast sums of money within 6 years its totally worthless. The quality of a restoration car will stand in the test of time and they are not making anymore TR3a Triumphs or Jaguar Rtypes or 1969 MGB's with one drive or whatever vehicles you have . A properly restored classic car will almost certainly appreciate over time making it better proposition than a new car.
